Descriptive Essay About Dog - 951 Words
Boomer was one of the best dogs I ever had; he was a yellow Labrador Retriever. Ever since I was born, he had been my friend. I remember a few years ago, I was laying on the floor of my room and Boomer laid down with me, putting his arm over my back. He brought me great joy. I remember him as playful, caring, and a pretty big dog. He would never growl at me and was always eager to meet new people. Boomer was my to go to if I wasnââ¬â¢t feeling good, or if I was upset. When I was in third grade, we got another dog, Oscar, and everything changed. He is a German Wirehair Pointer, they are bred to be hunting dogs. Now I had two dogs to play with. During the school day, before my younger brother, Wyatt, had started Kindergarten, he and myâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦I started to spend more time with Oscar and he became the dog I went to when I was depressed or something was wrong. All of the sudden, Boomer stopped eating and wouldnââ¬â¢t stand up to go outside. I was scared that my dog would die. A couple of days later he did. I recall waking up and him being gone. I asked my mom, ââ¬Å"Where is Boomer?â⬠and she answered, ââ¬Å"Your dad and grandpa took him to the vet to be put down.â⬠I started crying as soon as she gave me this tragic news. Boomer dying was one of the worst things that has happened in my life. At school that day, I told Will all about it. I cried at school and didnââ¬â¢t want to do anything. I wanted his food and water bowl taken away so I would forget all about what happened. Most mornings I would wake up crying about Boomer. I would dream of him most nights as well. My dad was very upset with Boomer dying too. He would talk to my mom about him a lot. I was upset for about a week when Boomer died. One day, Oscar and I went outside to throw around the dove. It brought me some relief that I still had Oscar to play with. I hung out with Oscar more than ever before. He would lay down with me, go outside with me, and follow me like a shadow. Oscar was upset too. He never barked before and now he would howl and bark like crazy because he was looking for Boomer. I spent more and more time with Oscar and he became my new best friend.
